1887 did not see as many improvements as previous years to the field of sound recording. It did see the entry of one person who would change the face of sound recording very soon, Emile Berliner.
As stated in the previous entry from late 1883 to early 1886 saw little to nothing in the way of improvements or innovation in the area of the phonograph and its like. In 1886 things change and development takes on a much brisker pace.
In the initial entry of this journey we looked at the original phonograph. In this entry we will take a look at a few patents aimed at improving certain aspects of the device, not only by Thomas Edison but by others as well.
Hers is an ambitious project I am about to tackle while I get my video recording stuff into some sort of permanent set-up. I am going to look at the history of recording and reproducing sounds from Thomas Edison forward through the years, primarily in the USA as I don’t have access to some foreign patents. I will be looking mostly at patents, the breakthroughs and the failures. From the small changes to giant leaps forward, sometimes glossing over the surface, sometimes going a bit more in depth. Come join me and see if you learn anything.
Well it is January 17th and we made it through a year. Seems like I have been doing this longer than that. In reality I have, only the website is celebrating its one year anniversary since our first post, I have been at it a bit longer…….
A lot of you may not be aware of this but before I got into idols I was very much into history (I still am). I was very passionate about research and finding the little stories behind the stories. I have now started to apply the skills I have acquired to my interest in idol music. I guess what we have here is more of an almost story. The “almost” members of NECRONOMIDOL.
Today we have part one of a series on a fans journey to see NECRONOMIDOL in Metz, France. Never had a guest writer (besides Terry) so I thought I would give it a shot. So without further babbling from me I will let Lou from Twitter tell you his story. Here we go with part one. (we will get more photos in the next part)
The fourth in series of short articles highlighting some of the rarer CDs that I have been able to acquire. This entry might not be one of the rarest CDs out there but it is still not well known. A brief look at the groups “full” discography does not even hint at its existence. Lets see if we can dig up some information on じゅじゅ – 「呪呪」.
As you all know, I am like a huge fan of mistress. So when I got my hands on their demo/single, 「Succubus」, a while ago I felt like the happiest boy in the park. Played it on repeat for a bit then ripped it to my hard drive so I could put my special treasure on the shelf. Don’t want to damage those early recordings you know. When I received the new self titled release I wanted to see how it stacked up against the single, so I played it some more. Then I decided to see what they were talking about in the song………
